Hi crafty friends! It’s Tuesday and that means time for a brand new cue word over at CASology. Last week we had so many wonderful entries, so I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this week. Here is the cue card:
When I heard of LUCKY, I immediately thought of slot machine. My hubby loves playing casino slots for fun in Las Vegas. Honestly, that’s not my favorite destination for a weekend getaway, but I couldn’t stop him because he rarely loses his money in gambling. He has been so lucky so far, that means I’m the one who gets all the advantages from the winning money which covers restaurant, spa, shows, and shopping. Now we are planing to fly to Las Vegas again for our anniversary in May. He is already beyond excited like a kid. Me? Can’t wait!!! 🙂
Well, I guess you understand why I created a slot machine themed card for this week’s cue word. I really wanted to use number 7 for my slot image, since it is a lucky number in South Korea. But I did’t own a suitable stamp or die for it, so I had to compromise with heart and star from Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments and the LIFE from Happy Hexagons stamp set by Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from my favorite Handwritten Note stamp set by Avery Elle. I used the PTI Pure Poppy cardstock for my card base, and striped pattern paper from My Mind’s Eye for the frame.
To create my slot screen to look curvy, I slightly rolled up the paper inside. It looks more fun in real life. I scored at the top and bottom of it so that it’s flat when I close the card.
Here is how I created my card. 1)Cut out the rectangle frame out of cardstock using kraft knife and ruler. 2)Adhere the frame border out of patterned paper. 3)Draw the guide line with pencil and three black line with marker on a piece of white cardstock. 4)Stamp LIFE, stars, and hearts. 5)Heat emboss the sentiment using white embossing powder. 6)Fold/roll the stamped piece and adhere on the back of the frame.
I’m so happy with how my card turned out. I feel like my life is full of good luck just by seeing this card. I’m sure this card would be perfect to be seining to someone who brings a good luck to my life. What do you think? Hope you like my card and get some inspiration. 😉 By the way, I’m entering this in the Addicted to CAS #34.
FYI, these are the main supplies I used to create my card: heat tool was not pictured. Make sure to stop by each of the DT’s blog for more inspiration! I hope you play along with us this week, there is a wonderful prize up for grabs from Stamps and Scrapbooks and the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge – more details are on the CASology blog.

Hello there, I think your site may be having web browser compatibility problems. When I take a look at your site in Safari, it looks fine however when opening in Internet Explorer, it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Aside from that, excellent website!|

This is such a fantastic idea!!!!! Don’t you just love it when you get an idea in your head and you can get it to work for your card. I wouldn’t even know where to start to make a card like this. I love that you thought of ‘lucky’ in a different way too, instead of just the word itself, genius!!

Love this card. Such a fun take on the cue word. And, then, to see that you made the entire thing up and put it all together, well, just pick me up off the floor and dust me off. Fantastic.
