Happy Tuesday! What a great week we had at the CASology challenge last week. I have enjoyed all of the fabulous bold creations you all came up with! And now I’m back again with a new challenge where this week’s cue card is JUMP.
I wasn’t quite sure where to go with this cue word... trampoline, jump rope, frog, and so on. However, inspiration finally struck when I saw my car, 2007 Honda Civic Coupe. I have experienced the car battery problems for the last few years. The battery died every time when I left lights on. Don’t blame me, though, I know I should have turned the lights off before I left. Can you imagine how annoyed I was with the car having trouble starting up? The only way I could start my car was calling on insurance company for jump-start service. I almost bought my own portable jump-starter in case. OK, without further ado, here is my take inspired by my poor car.
I went with a gold embossed heart with DIY jumper cables. Then I needed a good sentiment paired with my story and thought about “You jumpstart my heart”. I googled to see if it meant something, and I found out there was a song named Jumpstart my heart by Natalie Cole. What a delightful coincidence! I think this will be a perfect masculine valentine or anniversary card. Not too sweet and fussy with very clear message. What do you think?
For my focal image, I embossed the Hero Arts heart image in gold and fussy cut it using scissors. Then I colored mini wood clothespins with Copics and attached some leather strings under the clothespins, inspired by the jumper cables. After that, I printed out the sentiment using my brand new printer, Canon Pixma MX922. I’ve been anxious to use it to create my own sentiment, and I love how it worked with my jumpstart card! The heart was placed using dimensional adhesive and the cables were adhered using mini glossy accents to the card base.
FYI, these are the supplies I used to create my card. That’s all for today. Be sure to head on over to CASology to check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the DT. I hope you link up your CAS card showcasing JUMP for a chance to guest design on the next challenge. I can’t wait to see what you’ve created! Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
