CASE Study #178: Floral Big Thanks Card

by May Park-

Hi crafty friends! This is my second post as a February guest designer at CASE Study where this month’s muse is Danielle Flanders. Each month they take a few older cards from a guest muse and use them as inspiration for new ideas. What a great way to stay inspired! Here is Danielle’s card for this week’s challenge:

I was drawn to the bright color combo from her card and tried to add some floral look to my creation. I also followed the way she placed a big large sentiment in the center. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:

To make this card, I used ‘inlaid die cuts’ technique, learned from Betsy a few months ago. I started with the SSS big thanks die to cut from white cardstock and added the colors to the ‘thanks’ sentiment by smashing each ink pad directly onto the die cut. Then I die cut the same ‘thanks’ in white cardstock and inlaid the colored sentiment into the negative piece of the card base. After that, I stamped the flower images from Mini Blooms stamp set in various colors of Hero Arts Shadow inks.

This is a closer look at my card. That colored ‘thanks’ die cut fits perfectly into the white ‘thanks’ opening, filling it and making it one layer. You can really see the inlaid piece in real life and that is what makes it more special. Love the colorful and cheerful look of my card! What do you think?

FYI, these are the supplies I used to create my card: Cuttlebug cutting machine and card stock were not pictured. That is it for toady. Please stop by the CASE Study challenge blog for more inspiration, and I hope you will get a chance to play along! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
