Catered Crop: Magnifying Glass Card

by May Park-

Happy Friday, crafty friends! Popping in to share a card that I created for the Catered Crop: Orange is the New Black challenge. This time we want to see you use the color orange in your creation: grab your orange inks, papers, crayons, and if you throw in a pumpkin, that’s great, too.

This is the card that I was inspired by a couple of challenges: a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #50 and a bit woodsy theme from CASE Study #162. I started by running some Kraft cardstock through the Cuttlebug in a wood grain embossing folder from Darice. I used the Circle Friends stamp set from Simons Says Stamp to stamp a little bee in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Then I colored the bee image with three Copic colors, fussy cut it, put feelers using some twine, and coated the wings with Glossy Accents.

After that, I created my own magnifying glass using My Favorite Things’ Circle Die-namics. To make it look real, I attached some acrylic clear sheet under the circle frame using mini glue dots. Then I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments in VersaMark ink onto the black handle and heat embossed it with white powder. I assembled my bee and magnifier using lots of form dots to give some dimension.

Here is a closer look at my magnifying glass. I love that everything goes perfectly together! Love this little bee through the circle window, don’t you? So cute! Hope you like my creation and get some inspiration.

FYI, these are the supplies I used for my card: the heat tool and Cuttlebug were not pictured. That’s all I have for today. I hope you play along with us at Catered Crop as the winners will have a chance to guest design on the next recipe swap. Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

May Park.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any methods to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d definitely appreciate it.|
