Happy news, crafty friends! A week and a half ago, I won the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #44 for this card. That means I have the privilege of being a guest designer for this week’s sketch and, more importantly, got to see the sketch in advance. Yeee! I really have no words to express how excited I am! I love their CAS sketches, and each one is so inspiring and fun to work on.
Above is the newest sketch by the lovely Chrissy. The moment I saw the wave patterns on the sketch, I immediately thought of the Starbucks logo which has an image of a mythical two-tailed mermaid siren with wavy hair. So I decided to create a woman’s face, slightly covered with long, curly black hair.
Here is my take. I started by cutting wave patterns and eye image with my Silhouette cutting machine. Then I arranged each pieces on a white card base from Neenah Solar White. Next, I stamped my sentiment from PTI Flower Fusion #6 under the eye in red ink. To finish off my card, I added some glossy accents over the pupil of the eye.
I really love how my card turned out. From her glossy eye, I can feel how much she misses ‘you.’ But she looks a little moody at the same time. Um, I may need to make another version of this card with a happy face. 🙂 What do you think?
FYI, here are the supplies I used on my card today: Silhouette cutting machine wasn’t pictured. For more inspiration from the super talented design team, be sure to head over to the CAS(E) this Sketch blog. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Happy crafting!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!|

Whats up this is kind of of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!|

Congrats on your CAS(E) this Sketch win and being a guest designer! I ADORE your card, it’s so modern and minimalist. I’m glad I found someone else that creates cards with their Silhouette machine.
