How-to Video: Honey Bee Stamps Spring Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the Honey Bee Stamps Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Lydia Fiedler’s blog, you are right on track! To celebrate a release of new stamps and dies, I created a dimensional watercolor card featuring the Spring Blossoms Stamp Set.

I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Spring Blossoms Stamp Set with Simon Says Stamp Embossing Ink on a sheet of Strathmore Hot Press Watercolor Paper. Then I heat embossed the images using Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder.

You could heat emboss them with clear or gold embossing powder if you want to. Or you could stamp the images with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen for no-line watercoloring.

Next, I watercolored the images using wet on wet watercolor technique with my favorite watercolors, Mijello Mission Gold Watercolor Set. I’m sharing three ways to color your images using watercolors in my video tutorial below – so make sure to watch it.

After coloring was done, I die cut the images using the Spring Blossoms Die Set and Spellbinders Platinum Diecut Machine. Then I mounted a piece of Altenew Woodgrain White Cardstock on the A2 size top folding white card base using Altenew glue tape.

After moving around my die cut flowers and leaves to find a perfect placement, I mounted them on the card front using 3M foam tape. Then I die cut “sweet” 7 times out of white cardstock and one time out of gold glitter paper using the Sweet Die Set and Altenew Mini Blossom die cutting machine.

FYI, I created my own gold glitter paper by adhering the gold glitter on a piece of white cardstock. After stacking my die cuts together using a glue pen, I mounted the “sweet” die cut on the card front using 3M foam tape.

To add some interest and details to my flowers, I added some dots on the center of my flowers using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops Black.
